For great home style German food, Paradise Deli is hard to beat.
I could rave about their potato soup, Currywurst, potato salad, kinder eggs, etc.
Also they are the only place I know that sells Shenkinwurst.
Yummy.
Some people are like Slinkies... Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

I'd give my left arm to be ambidextrous...

I think it is cute how Ursela and her husband bicker at each other.

The way I read in the paper the owner's of the buildings right there are tearing them down and putting up a new one, so they will either quit or move.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Remember that no matter how bad things are in your life, there are others dealing with much worse obstacles, and be thankful for what you have.

They are tearing the old place down. R.I.P. Mitch's hamburger stand. Ursela says they are trying to find another place to rent on the square.

Because they became the Schnitzel House actually IN the square in Waynesville where the OLD Miller Real Estate was before it moved to the NEW Miller Real Estate next door.  We have not been in yet, but had some of their food at Christmas on the Square.  The food was good, and it looks pretty cute in there.

I think I read where someone was going to be tearing down some of that area and be rebuilding...I may be wrong though.

You're not wrong. Mitchell's own from where Practically Enchanted was to the corner building on Olive St. They will be tearing those buildings down and rebuilding a new shopping area.

I think they should have different hours though.

I think their hours are from like 8:30-5:30.

I would think they would do good to open just in time for lunch then stay open a little later in the evening.
When I was young, I wanted to be older.  This is not what I expected!

Do they serve breakfast?  When Bavarian Deli was next to Doyle's Produce they had good breakfast.
The Schnitzel House sounds good...will have to try it.  Love that German food!

Scrolling some of the old threads, and came across this one.  While paradise deli is a good place to eat, the attitude of the husband cost me my business.  On Veteran's Day a couple of years ago, me and family went to eat there.  The lady that was there earlier was coming off shift, and the husband, whose first job is working for EDP on post comes in.  He starts raising hell about being Veteran's Day, and he's not going to serve a full menu on that day because it's a national holiday, yet the store is open that day, and after the other girl had been doing the full menu.  Yes, the food is good. Yes, people think it's cute when he and his wife do that annoying bickering. However, his attitude that day has resulting in him not getting another one of my dollars.
