  • nursejdavis: I am looking for a few Press Releases from Kevin Hillman that have disappeared.... not sure why they would be hidden from the public unless they contain narcs who have gotten their charges dropped for their cooperation. Seems the same Press Releases were also deleted from Facebook. Thanks for any help in locating these

  • Valor7: I could have worded that better, we talked details, options, the pros and cons of each, in  order to arrive at the best ballot language to present to the voters. Hope that makes this clearer.

Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

If the people can’t record the police then the police shouldn’t be allowed to record the people. Just  like LE likes to say, if you have nothing to hide what is the problem. If officers are doing their job in public ( not undercover) then they should have no problem with it. I would be willing to bet that the ones that are fighting /suing are crooked. Any time there are issues like this, the courts should find for the public.

"So do dash cams violate citizen rights is the question" In my opinion, No.
Citizens also have the right to record their interactions with law inforcement.
Whats good for the goose is good for the gander.
"The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?"

Yep. I agree. I seen a video where a kid had installed a camera system in his car, For whatever reason, and ended up using it to prove a Cop was trying to railroad him with bogus charges. The cop pretty well hung himself with threats.......I wouldnt take the time or money to do all that but If I seen a group of cops beating a man mercilessly I would damn sure pull out my phone a videotape it. I would also record audio if my well bieng was being threatened by an officer. I never had an officer be rude to me or vise versa ,so sometimes the attitude you portray to an officer could piss em off enough to prove a point.

This is crap.  But, unless we stand up for our rights we'll continue to get railroaded as citizens.  Most cops are NOT bad apples, however they ALL need to be reminded that they are in a PUBLIC SERVICE profession and are held accountable by the PUBLIC.  If they don't like it or disagree with it then it's time for a change in profession...
The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance. Cicero - 55 BC, Rome

I wish I had had a camera THEN.

Just_a_biker for sheriff. kidding I wouldn't wish that job on anyone.  The day that cops have more rights (legally) then the citizens they say they are sworn to protect will be a dark dark day.

Happened recently.  June?  Cop shot a deer in the city limits.  They seem to have "lost " the deer and could not ensure it was "sick".  Had anyone other than an officer done that, they would have been cuffed and stuffed.  Public endangerment.  But then........

I remember you posting about that... You're probably a better man than I, because I would more than likely ended up visiting JB that night...

LOL  I don't think ANYONE would appreciate me as Sheriff...  Open your eyes, Chas.  Cops already have more rights than citizens... Back in the day cops used to be told to have "tough skin" to deal with people who were emotionally charged and spewing at the mouth; now they just arrest you.  It doesn't matter if you beat the charges in court; you still had to spend a ton of money to defend yourself and cops know that.  They're looking for their own definition of "justice", and if you piss them off and they cause you to spend thousands of dollars to defend yourself that's justice to them...

Again, I know MOST cops are good, however there seem to be more & more that are not.

Your right Just_a_biker wasn't thinking about that. But cops today do seem thinner skined.
