News Release
Arrest: Abuse of a Child
Pulaski County Sheriff J. B. King
Aug. 16, 2010

On July 18, 2010, Pulaski County deputies were notified of a possible case of child abuse at a local hospital emergency room. Deputies began an investigation of the alleged incident.

During the course of the investigation the deputies learned of other incidents of abuse on the same child. A pattern of injury to the four year old child was documented which included a large number of bruises and a broken finger. The child told deputies the male suspect hit him many times.

A statement of probable cause was sent to the Pulaski County Prosecutor requesting charges for this case. The prosecutor filed one count of abuse of a child, a class C felony, on William Gerald Berkshire, age 22, of 16495 Walnut Lane, Plato, Missouri.

Berkshire was taken into custody and he remains in the Pulaski County Jail pending the posting of a $50,000 cash only bond.

Oh big man...picking on a baby.  SOB...someone needs to break his fingers and see how it feels.  Where was this child's mom while he was being hit "many times?"  Maybe she should be sitting in a cell next to him.
....and that night as the moon crossed the mountain, one more Coyote was heard...
