  • Valor7: What I tried to say is that the actual money would not be there that quick. But a loan against that would work if they are willing to do that.

  • Valor7: Actually no it is not, a dependable Revenue stream will not come on line until the 4th quarter of 2017 so 2018 budget will be up in the air, not quite sure what they will have. By 2019 budget all will be well.

  • Valor7: I could have worded that better, we talked details, options, the pros and cons of each, in  order to arrive at the best ballot language to present to the voters. Hope that makes this clearer.

  • Valor7: Yes and no. We talked details and options until we were blue in the face but I never heardbring it over, it was always the time was not right for the issue to pass. Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

Pre-War Intelligence Report proves Bush lied about just about every single thing about the run-up to the war, the planning and post-war Iraq.

Note the names on the report, right wingers.

I looked at the key points and conclusions.  There is nothing in this report that was unknown at the time.  Privates in my Guard unit discussed the post war difficulty and the amount of time American troops would be there.  The consensus opinion was 10 years.  I tried to remember specific statements by Bush contradicting the report but could not come up with anything, little help please?  The important point in the Senate and intelligence services reports are the cultural history making democracy hard to establish and the regional differences.  I can not think of any instance in history when a republican (small r) form of government was imposed on a people.  An opportunity can be given but it is up to the people to follow through.  Under the Ottomans and early in the British Mandate the three primary regions of Iraq were governed separately.  The governing bodies were combined to save money by the British.  Maybe three separate regions would be best, the Kurds are doing okay.

Well done with the historical side - nice to see that as opposed to other things.

A caveat would be the growth and spread of Islamism (the radical side of Islam) up and through the 2nd world war.  And Arafat, PLO, Hezbollah, et ales......

I remember the 8 to 10 year "plan" up front.  And all of the press agencies covered it that way and the majority of the legislative bodies understood, etc, etc.  The only difference between then and now is nobody was posturing for election time - they were positioning the populace to brace for war.
