  • Valor7: Actually no it is not, a dependable Revenue stream will not come on line until the 4th quarter of 2017 so 2018 budget will be up in the air, not quite sure what they will have. By 2019 budget all will be well.

  • Valor7: I could have worded that better, we talked details, options, the pros and cons of each, in  order to arrive at the best ballot language to present to the voters. Hope that makes this clearer.

  • Valor7: Yes and no. We talked details and options until we were blue in the face but I never heardbring it over, it was always the time was not right for the issue to pass. Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

OK, tell me if this is BS or not. My SUV broke down on the interstate a week ago. I had it hauled to a local auto service center. They look at it and tell me that the head gasket had blownand needed to be fixed. I asked how much, was told $500. I told them if that is all it needed, fix it.    A week goes by, they call up and say it is done. I go and pick ti9 up and the enigne is pinging real bad, i make it down the road maybe 100 yards and it is done. I call them and tell them the engine is blown, and they tell me it was not tha...t bad with them. Is there anyway they could diagnose the engine for a head gasket, which meant starting it, fix the gasket, which curtails cahnging the oil 3 times and running the engine and not hear the engine is blown?  To me, they may do good work, but ethically, they knew that the job not going to fix the vehicle. Will not say they are bad mechanics, just question their ethics

So, where should we not take our vehicles to be fixed so we don't have this happen to us?
If anybody knows MAYNARDS given name please PM me with it.  I will not tell who tells me!

You need to say what place you went to so the rest of us don't get the same screwing. I bet they did a compression check and found a bad side if a v-8. Said a head gasket, replaced it and still bad compression. Sounds like a piston or ring problem in the bottom not the top. JMHO Help the rest of us out!

If it was a head gasket prob, and if they changed the oil 3 times.... likly there was coolant in the oil.  Depending on how much and how long the engine ran this way, you prob overheated a bearing or two.  I would bet the shop ran the engine just long enough to circulate the oil and drain it.  While it ran fine, they didnt load test it which you did when you drove it.  The bearing heated up and seized.

Have the engine rebuilt or buy a shortblock of thats the case.

Got hit the same way locally with our mitsubishi, they told us it was the head gasket and we were looking at over 900 bucks to fix it. We called my wifes nephew who is mechanically inclined and he said wed be better off selling it so we sold it to him for 1000 bucks. he took it to Jeff city and he called us within the day to tell us he was driving it around and was running fine, he just reset the oxygen sensor or some thing.  He didnt take our money and delivered our car back to us. Would have cost nothing to fix, but the Local Fix it would have gotten 900 bucks to reset a sensor if we hadnt consulted  the nephew. We found out trade in on our car running is about 6 grand so would have Lost a bundle if we had sold it. I refuse to have locals fix my cars because of these types of things. Every shop here But Steves Car care Has tried to screw me, Some have succeded......others didnt due to me demanding broken parts afterwards, or proof what they said was wrong. Always question . Always
