  • Valor7: Yes and no. We talked details and options until we were blue in the face but I never heardbring it over, it was always the time was not right for the issue to pass. Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

This is actually more of a question than anything. I noticed that since the last flooding there has been a LOT of debris wash down the river and settle down under the bridge, does the city of Waynesville clean that up or do volunteers get together and clean it up? That place has a LOT of potentional but the debris really does need picked up, and if there are volunteers that do the job, who are they so I can volunteer as well.

I haven't been down there since all the flooding, but for those of you that have never looked at the bridge from below, it really is a very nice piece of architecture.  I have caught many fish with my fly rod in that area!

I think there is some organization, don't know who it is, that walks the river once a year or so and cleans up debris.  Find out how to contact Luge Hardeman, she could probably tell you who to get in contact with.  She is very big on the beautification project in Waynesville.

She is on the Waynesville City Council.  You could probably call city hall to find out how to get hold of her.

The Missouri Stream Team http://www.mostreamteam.org/index.asp has lots of resources to help organize a cleanup for a stretch of river. The may have info on when/if a cleanup is scheduled for the Roubideaux.

My former Cub Pack 202 Stream Team cleaned up that part of the Roubidoux 2 times a year.   We normally did it on Waynesville beautification weekend and again in the fall.  I will email the Cubmaster and make him aware.  They may want to do an extra day this year.

I went on the Stream Teams website, and it seems that they only clean up trash items. What about the big items like the trees that washed down river and are now piled up on the bank? Who gets cuts that up and hauls it off. I've been under the bridge numerous times and if you haven't been it really is worth a walk. It's beautiful under there, whoever it was above that said the Architecture is amazing was spot on.
