Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

Click here to find out more!  A call for restrictions on body suspensions and brandings fails in Springfield   by Paula Morehouse, KY3 News 10:33 p.m. CST, February 13, 2012  SPRINGFIELD -- Springfield City Council rejected a measure on Monday night that called for tougher regulations on body suspensions, piercings, and tattoos.

Under the proposed ordinance, anyone administering tattoos, body piercings, or brandings on another person would have to be licensed by the Missouri Department of Insurance.

The bill would have put restrictions on outdoor body suspensions in residential neighborhoods, and it would have banned the activity within 200-feet of a school.

"This is a cultural moment and for us to codify it with a piece of law, I think is reprehensible, I can't speak loudly enough how bad of an idea that I think this is.  I really be you not to pass this ordinance," said Councilman Doug Burlison.

The measure did not pass. I guess if you want you can still 'HANG' around... ***(((* http://www.ky3.com/news/ky3-springfield-city-council-leaders-reject-a-bill-to-add-regulations-to-body-suspensions-20120213,0,4101490.story

Maybe they just like to hang around ? ::)
And as far as the Branding part, It should be required that IDIOT should be branded on their foreheads.  *****

Agree. What a waist of time spent on stupid people. Let them hang out" in their own back yard". Not the public park.

So Bigots be. My industry has all sorts of sides. Some want to pierce their faces up, some want their bodies painted permanantly........Some want to hang in suspence. some want holes the size of a mayonaise jar.....who cares. if its not your body who gives a shit . this person has weighed the options and decided that legally he or her has the right.......and figured its a go. who are you to judge? do they come into your life and decide whats best for you? No. have a nice day all.

I don't care if they do it. but I believe it should not be a public display. Kids get enough bad ideas from tv and other places. they don't need to immitate the suspension and branding.

I agree, it's like whatever you do in your bedroom is your business.  Whatever you do in your yard is your business, don't do it out in public.  You can get arrested for urinating in public or exposing yourself.  DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO IN THE PRIVACY OF YOUR OWN HOME OR YARD.  I hope the people who do this have health insurance though.  I would not want tax payers to pay for any injury that might result from their stupidity.

Totally agree. What you do at home does not make it OK in public. I wonder about the health insurance. How many successful business folks you know getting piericed and hanging out? Older folks like me just think it's stupid and would not care to even be exposed to it! I don't mind putting a hook in a fish if I get lucky but not a person.

Well After doing a lil research......I guess the feller could have put up a privacy fence so his neighbors didnt have to watch the "HORROR"....He did the right thing tho and promised not to do it in his yard anymore. I dont see where the city needed to be brought in , but whatever. Sorry To anyone i may have offended by my last comment. I assumed this was about the act of it in general. I didnt realize they were hanging out in the yard while the neighbor kid was watching. people have to realize that what seems normal to them is quite horrific to others. Ive had people WATCHING a person get tattooed or pierced go out like a light , not even having the procedure done to them. Ive had people hold their hands over their mouth watching, like I was using a chainsaw to rip their friend or families arm off. So a 9 year old girl seeing a bunch of people with hooks in their back swing from a tree could be traumatic. I dont see banning it but people could do it in private settings.
