Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

My daughter was working for a daycare that recently went out of business/sold to new owners.  The old owners still owes all the employees for three weeks worth of work.  When she calls the old owner, she doesn't get an answer from her.  I called DOL and got through to the national number but they gave me a number in St. Louis to file a claim.  I have called repeatedly and keep getting "leave your number and we will return your call" and no one is returning my call.  I do know from the national number that the owner has 16 days from the last day of the pay period to make the payments.  The 16 days is past on the first two week pay period.  Any suggestions?
When I was young, I wanted to be older.  This is not what I expected!

I would contact Kevin Hillman's office and see what they suggest.

You can sue them in civil court and ask the Judge to add interest daily until they pay you!

You can also request them pay your legal fees for the action since its their fault you had to take them to court.  See a lawyer, dont bother the prosecutor with questions you already know the answer to, they have a job to do representing the county as a collective, not answer your personal legal questions.

HI suggestion is what i would tell you to do except for one difference, have your daughter do it since it is her pay(i figure that is what you mean), but just putting it out there.  My kids always ask me for advice about things and ask me to make callls for them and i have to tell them i cant. that they have to do it, its there business and as they are adults its up to them to take the lead.

I was wondering about interest if it isn't paid within the time frame DOL sets.  I wouldn't bother Kevin with something like this.  It is a DOL action, just wondered if you thought I should wait and see if they get paid in the next week or go ahead and have her file a claim with DOL.

I would get the advice of a Lawyer.... Not sure how much it cost for advice from a lawyer... If it was me I would send a certified letter to the employer  stating you if she is not paid what she is owed by (whatever date you want to put in) then you will proceed with taking Him/Her to court. Maybe the Lawyer can write a letter so it looks Official!!

BBB is quick and they do follow all avenues available. they dont mess around. I dont know however if they handle due pay. I Know if you are a disgruntled customer they will go after the people. theres also the issue of the guy bieng out of business,(new owners) , May be nothing you can do but sue. They are worth checking out though.

She texted the person yesterday and asked her if they would get their checks soon.  She texted back "I'm working on it."
