I am suprised that there is no more action on this part of the PCW.

After the big biker showdown last weekend in Waynesville, I though that it was time for me to own a scanner. For just about $100 programed at Radio Shack and I was in... And so after a week of listening, I completely understand how the truth and what is said publicly is alot different at times.

For starters, that 'quiet litte get together' out at the Shine Club, is a lot different over the scanner... As close as I figure, it took 14 officers from at least 4 different agencies to control the crowd last night. 'Quiet litte get together?' yea right! What I thought that was funny, in a sense, was that after some of the officers left, one was complaining to another that he had a headache from all the drug smoke in the air...Or maybe I just missed the point where smoking pot became legal in Mo?

Next, Does anyone drive through Waynesville after 8pm and not get a ticket? Waynesville Police must have wrote 100 tickets last night. Is there really that much crime in Waynesville?

If you don't own a scanner, you should really buy one and listen... its a real eye opener!

I would say the drug smoking part is sometimes...you have to pick your battles. About the waynesville part...no you cannot drive thru their town without them having a problem with it. A lot like Crocker.

Suspect you need more time listening to understand how it all works. PCSD had 3 deputies at the Shrine Club last night and as far as I and the dispatcher who was on duty last night know there were no officers from other departments on scene.

Waynesville PD will have to answer the other comments.

And yes you are correct, listening 24/7/365 will open your eyes real wide. This is not a quiet little country neighborhood anymore.

Im surprised that JB didnt mention that this was not a biker event. FORR had there monthly meeting at the main building of the Shrine club and the Burners had leased the back grounds for an event this weekend.

I have lived here since 1970, can't count how many times I have driven through Waynesville late at night and I have never gotten a ticket, or gotten pulled over by a police officer.  Of course, I drive the speed limit and stop at all the stop signs and ligts.  I'm thinking if they stopped you, and gave you a ticket, you must have been doing something wrong.  Do you think you should get a free pass after 8?
When I was young, I wanted to be older.  This is not what I expected!

I think he is reffering to theWaynesville LE  calling the Motorcycle

And I think he may be a little off at what happened at the Shrine club.
JB can clear the air he was there.

Right now, (1:06am Sunday 5/6/12) County officers have requested help from Waynesville Officers to help with issues at the Shrine Club again tonight... Waynesville has 702 and 706 responding, meeting at 401(?) what ever where ever that is...

my 2 cents. waynesville and these other small towns do this to help revenue. but i have noticed after livin here for ever that it depends on your adress what townes to go into after dark. you dont go to richland with a waynesville adress or the other way around. if they run your tag and you belong to another local town they will stop you and try real hard to find somthin to ticket you for. and now that buckhorn is part of waynesville(i am sure that was also for the money and not because they people of buckhorn wanted it) i dont even go there very late in the evening. of course if you are part of the st.robert ft.wood waynsville address you dont have nothing to worry about. unless you are doing somthing wrong. but i also think this is common in every county with every small town. you cant harrass the ones who elect the officials and pay the bills. so you target those who have no connection to a town. Just so I can clear up any rumors, there were no "Biker" activities ongoing at the Shrine Park. The property was rented by an organization called "The Burning Man". They are some art cult thing, don't really understand it, but appears to be people reliving the 70s. I do not know what went on there that required the police. But it had absolutely nothing to do with the Freedom of Road Riders or any other Motorcycle organization or club.

Is it against the law to be naked on private property?  Ruh roh raggy...

The naked man was attempting to assault people and was going crazy. The Police ( 2 Deputies, 2 Waynesville, 2 St. Robert, and 1 Highway Patrol) responded becuase participents of the event had called 911 and requested help. The event was estimated to have over 1,000 people so Law Enforcement responded in large number becuase you never know what can happen with that many people.

      JB

Around 3am Waynesville was asked to assist Pulaski County Deputies because they had received multiple calls about the loud music. Do to the large amount of people there backup was a good idea. Highway Patrol and 5 Waynesville Officers responded to the assistance call. The Following night Highway Patrole, St. Robert and Waynesville assisted again.

To answer the question about the drugs this event was big enough that it would have required 100+ Law Enforcement to contain/arrest people for smokeing weed. It would have been like going to woodstock and trying to stop people lol.

To answer your question about the 100 tickets. Waynesville and I belive St. Robert also, particpate in grants from MODOT for highway safety. Meaning they have extra officers come in on days off or work over time to work traffic. MODOT does DWI saturations and Seat belt saturations, and I was told that this one was a DWI saturation.

Also just a heads up the Waynesville Police Department has a Facebook page that you can like and follow. All of the Officers make status updates about what they did on there shifts and provide details about how many stop/tickets/DWI's were done on the saturations. You may find that a lot more stuff goes on in the city limits of Waynesville then most people think.
