Why in the world would they let Joe Esparza go to Dixon Jail??? He's the same guy that escaped from Pulaski County Jail about 4 years ago. Isn't this correct JB??? I thought most inmates that went to Dixon Jail were the non-violent kind. Hmmmmm, someone didn't look at Esparza's record to see what he's done in the past. What's up with this???

Yes and No. He escaped from Doc Thomas office while on a medical visit. And yes poor choice to go to Dixon. Somebody did not look.

Ok JB is anyone looking at the inmate list to see who they have sent to Dixon Jail. I noticed this morning on your jail list that you have a man there on a $250,000 bond for assault 1st degree. Another man with quite a following that has a capias no bond for assault 2nd degree. And one more with a capias no bond on forcible rape charges. These all seem like violent crimes they are accused of, but yet you seem to have some folks in PCJ on much lesser non violent charges. Dixon Jail is a small jail, 3 cells, 6 bunks, so it seems to me to be a powder keg in the making. So maybe you can enlighten me on why all these violent {as charged} are in a jail like Dixon?

Once a rabbit, always a rabbit.  Glad they are both locked back up.

I have serious doubt in the Dixon police department. I understand that an escape can happen at any jail or prison, however the delay in reporting it is inexcusable. Not only does that place every citizen in increased danger, it also increases the danger to every law enforcement officer that might unknowingly run into escaped prisoners.

Sure looks like someone was more worried about the fact that they screwed up than public safety.
