I didn't see it, by my daughter said she saw in the Daily Guide that Ryan's is closing.  Thirty five people out of work.  That along with Miller's Grill and Pepper's closing is not good news for this community.  I can understand why Ryan's closed, their food has not been good in quite a while and there was hardly ever cars in the parking lot, but Miller's and Pepper's were busy all the time.  This is before cuts on post.  What will happen when the cuts start.

I know that numerous government contractors have lost their jobs and or taken huge pay cuts last month.
I personally no longer have the income to take my family out to eat.
Some people are like Slinkies... Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

I'd give my left arm to be ambidextrous...

Other factors are at play here....the millers grill guy rumor has it is an alcoholic that spread his money too thin.. From what I hear about peppers there is sickness in the family and the priorities are in the family not the business.

Peppers also lost lost big in being sued. Even if insurance took care of that it may have something to do with it. Coltons and Buffalo Wild Wings hurt some of these bussinesses to I would think.

I read where the insurance company paid one million. I'm sure the lease holders were sued too.

I don't think anyone would miss Aussie Jacks except for the people who work there.  I heard today that the person who owns the land that Ryans sits on, did  not want to renew their lease.  Doesn't make sense to me.  They aren't going to get any money with nothing there.
And I also heard there was something to do with a divorce in the Miller's Grill closing.
I haven't heard anything about Pepper's.

There's always a reason places close, it is not usually because they are getting too rich.. Most people won't admit it failed, usually blame something else..

The parent company of the restaurant chain Ryan's, has filed for bankruptcy and announced the closure of many of its locations.

Buffets, Inc. announced this week it will enter Chapter 11 bankruptcy. As part of the restructuring, Buffets says they will close 81 "underperforming" locations throughout the country.

The company operates several restaurants in the Chattanooga area under its Ryan's brand

The article about Ryans filing bankruptcy was dated 2012.  This store was not part of that bankruptcy.  I believe they are closing due to a landlord problem.

All i know is the chinese place that went into the ryan's in jeff city isn't bad, and they use every bar that ryans had in that place, which is a lot of food! We ate at Aussies the other night, so unless it has closed in the last week, I think it's still open.

I am told that ryans corporate bought that land from the city, hence there is no land lord.

Someone who pays better attention than I do can give a better, more accurate name, but I saw a sign on the Ryan's building that a hibachi grill type place will be coming soon.
