  • Valor7: Actually no it is not, a dependable Revenue stream will not come on line until the 4th quarter of 2017 so 2018 budget will be up in the air, not quite sure what they will have. By 2019 budget all will be well.

  • Valor7: I could have worded that better, we talked details, options, the pros and cons of each, in  order to arrive at the best ballot language to present to the voters. Hope that makes this clearer.

  • Valor7: sorry about the typos still working with just one arm in action

  • Valor7: Yes and no. We talked details and options until we were blue in the face but I never heardbring it over, it was always the time was not right for the issue to pass. Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

“The Sheriff’s View” (#47)

As with many of you, the Thanksgiving holiday has brought out-of-state family members to town; therefore, my weekend time has gone to them so this week’s article will be fairly brief. Fear not though, your Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department was very busy serving you last week, in which I will be reporting further about in a few days.

With the holiday season upon us, fraud crimes are ramped and rarely a day goes by without this agency receiving reports regarding fraudulent activity. Thefts of credit cards, along with information from the cards by portable swipe reading devices, are incredibly high this season. E-mails, phone calls and postal mail containing fraudulent scams are crimes that most of us seem to be receiving these days. Just remember, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. I want to caution each of you too about receiving e-mails from a bank, Pay-Pay or cell-phone company advising that your account has been hacked and you need to e-mail or phone in personal information, such as a Driver’s License number or Social Security number. Also, the FBI and Social Security Administration will never contact you asking for this information, either.

This is also the time of year that charity organizations are heavily soliciting donations, so be intelligent about responding to e-mails and telephone calls from individuals that might be fraudulently soliciting funds but using the name of reputable organizations. If you wish to donate by e-mail/internet, “do not” respond to E-mail sites but go to the organization’s internet site to donate. If contacted via telephone, ask for a call-back number so you can verify the caller and then donate when you re-contact them. These can be scams ran by criminals who are attempting to steal your hard-earned money!

Unfortunately, we have events throughout our county in which individuals lose their lives to unfortunate circumstances. When these incidents occur, I always receive inquiries asking details, along with requests wanting me to write press releases regarding these deaths. My general rule is that unless the death involves a crime, traffic accident or very unusual circumstance, I probably will not be making an official news release. It is my contention that these are personal matters and we should all respect their family members and allow them to grieve in private.

Waynesville had a good turnout at their annual Christmas Parade on Sunday, and Mother Nature could not have given a better day for such event. I personally enjoyed seeing many of you at this event, and want to thank each of you for coming out and supporting your community.

This concludes another week’s summary as your Pulaski County sheriff, and I hope to see you here again next week. For more information about the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department and other related items of interest, please visit our Web-site at (www.pcsheriff2.com), or on Facebook.

As always, stay safe and do something positive for your community.

Sheriff prob wont see this but any word on  these two ladies in a van that keep coming to my house with joy dish soap, or glade air freshner wanting to come into my house and clean for 10 minutes.  Its pretty obvious they are casing homes for whatever reason.

Even if he does see this it is worthless as info as it is written. What part of Pulaski County? Close address? and what does their vehicle look like? Make, color, model and license plate # would be very good. What do the ladies look like? Do they leave a business card? Any particular time of the day or night they show up? Anybody that you know of that has used their services?

They do neighborhoods, multiple ones as people I know from all over have made contact with these people.  Ive called twice and reported them in the area and the sheriffs office saif they would look into it.  I just wondered because I had another friend the day before yesterday say they came to his house.  I know its not legitimate because these people want to give you a can of air freshner to come into your home for 10 minutes and clean something for you for free, with no other stipulations.  Seems they just want to look around and see what you have.  Its really shady.

Are they cute?
Some people are like Slinkies... Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

I'd give my left arm to be ambidextrous...

That would be a red flag.
