  • Valor7: Yes and no. We talked details and options until we were blue in the face but I never heardbring it over, it was always the time was not right for the issue to pass. Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

Robbery Leaves Elderly Man Critically Injured

An 82 year old man is in critical condition after he was robbed at his home on Highway-T, near the community of Swedeborg. The victim was discovered by Pulaski County Sheriff’s Deputies following his vehicle being found abandoned on a private farm near the Gasconade River. Upon investigating the incident, deputies discovered that the registered owner was a disabled citizen, which prompted a welfare check at the man’s residence.

Upon arriving at the registered owner’s home, deputies discovered the victim lying in the floor, severely injured. The victim was immediately flown to a trauma center, where he is listed in critical condition. The ensuring investigation revealed that numerous items had been stolen from the house.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department has identified several persons of interest but is still seeking the community’s assistance in solving this case. If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department at 573-774-6196, or the anonymous Tip-Line at 573-774-7948.

Damned lowlifes preying on elderly people.
Some people are like Slinkies... Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

I'd give my left arm to be ambidextrous...

I don't care who doesn't like it but everyone involved needs the same and then some. There is no reason for low life, pieces of crap like that to be allowed to exercise any rights or freedoms given to the citizens of the nation. To beat a disabled 82 year old man only shows what weak, cowardly punks they truly are. If there was a little more eye for eye in our justice system trash like that wouldn't be so quick to prey upon the helpless residents of this county or others.
You can tell a persons true worth by how they treat someone who can do nothing for them at all...

I agree completely!  Why have none of them been brought to justice yet?  I assume that some of them are snitching out the others in order to cover their own  asses!

This case should not be forgotten,  there were a lot of people involved in one way or another and this man died from his injuries.

A major murder case takes a lot of time to get into a jury trial. Examples; we held one guy on a murder charge, change of venue from Cape Girardeau County, for almost five years before he was convicted. We held one local murder suspect in jail for four years before she was convicted. We had another local case, murder second of a small child where it took four years almost to the exact week to get in front of a jury. He was convicted.

The case in question you all are posting on is not one that I worked on but I seem to recall that one of the lessor charged people has already pleaded guilty. I may be wrong on this because like I said not my case, do not know the small details.

The person we believe is actually responsible for the killing is set for trial in Iron County in September 2016.  He is in jail and has many other cases pending against him.  There were numerous other people involved and all have now agreed to cooperate with us and most have pled guilty to some charge and some are awaiting sentencing until the fulfill their obligations to cooperate with the State.  I drive by the victims house on a regular basis and this case is not forgotten.
