NELSON SENTENCED IN CHILD MOLESTATION CASE
Kevin Hillman, Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney announces that Brian Nelson of Jefferson City, Missouri, was sentenced Friday in Circuit Court action in Phelps County on a change of venue from Pulaski County.  Judge William Hickle followed the juryís recommendation and sentenced Nelson to thirteen years in the Department of Corrections on each count of the two counts of Child Molestation in the First Degree and two years on the count of Sexual Misconduct Involving a Child Less than 15 years of age.  Judge Hickle ordered the sentences to run concurrent.  The Prosecutorís Office had asked in arguments for the sentences to run consecutive.
 
Nelson had been found guilty of two counts of Child Molestation in the First Degree and one count of Sexual Misconduct Involving a Child Less than 15 years of age in May after a three day jury trial.  The Waynesville Police Department and Kids Harbor assisted in the investigation of this case.  This case was prosecuted by Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys Ken Clayton and Katie Croker.
