  • Valor7: Yes and no. We talked details and options until we were blue in the face but I never heardbring it over, it was always the time was not right for the issue to pass. Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

yea i know how ya feel> the main reason i have a scanner is when my kids started driving, I could hear about wrecks and if they are near by i can always drive by and make sure it's not mine or call and check on them>

Just my own opionion. But I personally don't like this thread, So much gossip gets tossed in thru here. and if it is true, it could be someones relative whom which use the board. and personally I wouldn't wanna hear about anything happening to my family over a public chat room...

I do buy the paper, but Kristi is so much faster with the news she reports as the event is happening. You really don't have to read this thread if you don't agree with it, but some of us like to know if there is something going on around the area.

Scanners are a hobbie and are informative about road conditions, weather, accidents, etc.  If you don't want one, don't get one and if you don't want to know whats going on, don't listen.  Some people knit, some people monitor a scanner.  It's a free country to do whichever.  No one is going to give up a hobby just because someone else doesn't like it.

Well I have to admit I do listen to the scanner 24/7 but if someone calls me for information, and I know it is a fatality I will not give out any information. I knew a family who's child had died and they found out from a friend who ran her big mouth, That is the worst way to find something out. It is always bad, but at least when the officers tell you, they make sure you have a ride home, and will not let you leave until someone can drive you if you are not at home. They will not tell you while you are driving down the road on a cell phone.

It's sort of a risk we have in today's society... If you get arrested, the neighbors will have ten rumors about you before your kids get home from school. I find that at least people on this site are willing to pay attention to opposing viewpoints, which is more than can be said from a newspaper.

Just heard on the scanner there was a huge party down Bobwhite rd. in Crocker and a fight broke out, someone is going in & out of conscious and called for an helicopter to fly them  out. Any one else hear anything?
