They have been remodeling it for the last couple of weeks.

I believe it is under new ownership, so there will probably be quite a few changes.

Definitly a restrauant, a small grocery across the road, New owners are trying for a sucess, you should not judge them either by the sucess or failure of others.

I only knew of two people that worked there, and they werent bad. The truckers do need another place to go besides that oasis, so hopefully they will be able to let them park again.

Shameless plug -- read the Saturday 12/22 edition of the Daily Guide, which has been on the newsstands since early Saturday morning. The Witmor Farms story is the lead story. The new owner is a successful businessman from Rolla and (apparently) a former school board member there who is committed to making the restaurant work and develop the surrounding area as well.
Time will tell on what does and does not succeed there.

DTM didn't mention that the entire property was annexed by the City of Waynesville at the request of the new owner. Hope they (the retirees) like us country folks to the west. LOL

Waynesville annexed all that property between the cemetary and witmor for the convenience of two people?  Am I reading this correctly?

Ok thanks.  Makes a huge difference in my thinking then.  Just a question then.  Will Waynesville keep out of the rest of Buckhorn?

Hope so otherwise they better hire a bunch of police officers.

The buzz out here is they better stay out.  Cept from the people who believe cities baloney promises when annexing that is. The city has nothing to offer.

Neither city has went so far as to forcibly annex any property in recent times, for fear of retaliation. You must remember these people get elected by our votes. Both want potential retail areas to come on board. But from my recollection neither Waynesville or St. Robert have risked that move. I doubt we see that in the near future either. When the cities move their city limit signs it only makes the seem bigger, the properties on the sides of roads are not within their city.

Whitmor Farms convenience store and gas station is now open. I went there this morning and the gas price was only 2.74 unleaded, the store was very clean and the employee extremely helpful.

So is it only a convenience store or is there a restaurant in there too?  And what is the building across the street from it supposed to be?

There will be a restaurant a little later. It will be a down-home-cooking type menu.

As far as the building across the street, I think there will be shops, of some sort, in there - but I didn't ask.

Do you think the grocery store will be a hit? They may have higher prices but i guess its good for the people who do not want to go to price cutter, which by the way does not cut prices by no means!!
