  • Valor7: I could have worded that better, we talked details, options, the pros and cons of each, in  order to arrive at the best ballot language to present to the voters. Hope that makes this clearer.

  • Valor7: Yes and no. We talked details and options until we were blue in the face but I never heardbring it over, it was always the time was not right for the issue to pass. Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

I dont like it at all. I think it's uncontitutional. I mean, why do for just the military.Dont get me wrong I support our troops, but on this I don't it's unfair and recruitors will only us it to intice 16-18 year olds to join the army and it will raise the alcholism in the military more.

This is not a new concept.  It was done for the same reasons during the Viet Nam war.  As was the lowering of the voting age.  The states then went back to the 21 standard over the course of the next few years because statistically, the majority of folks involved in DUI tragedies are between the ages of 18 and 24 (something close anyway).  Much like it still is today.  Additionally, studies (in our country) have shown the younger a person is when they first start drinking, the more likely they are to become an alcoholic.  Not sure why that is, Europeans don't seem to have the same issues.

And until the youth rise up and elect someone like Hillary or Obama, the voting age will remain the same.

Age limit was 18 when I went in, and I worked with nukes, and I never blew anything up.... that I know of
There was this minor detonation in LA, but nobody noticed

is that what is wrong with all of those folks?

Congress doesn't make drinking laws, States do.

The National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984 required all states to raise their minimum purchase and public possession of alcohol age to 21. States that did not comply faced a reduction in highway funds under the Federal Highway Aid Act. In essence, Congress did dictate drinking laws. They just did it through extortion.

Old enought to fight and die in a foreign land, then old enough to partake.  IF they are in the military.  Nonmilitary need not apply.
