  • Valor7: I could have worded that better, we talked details, options, the pros and cons of each, in  order to arrive at the best ballot language to present to the voters. Hope that makes this clearer.

Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

I'm still trying to figure out the long term strategy on that.  I am sure he can't just sit there collecting contributions hoping he can pocket them later.

We may see him later in another venue.

A very unfortunate result for truly conservative Americans.  John McCain (and Mr. Huckabee) are not truly conservative candidates.  I voted for Mr. Romney in the primary, and am now at a loss - do I vote for McCain as the 'lesser evil' - even though many of his views are diametrically opposed to mine, or do I abstain, which essentially casts my vote for the Democratic candidate...

I am very unhappy with the choices this go, and am just about resolved to 4 years with a unacceptable (in my opinion) Chief Executive.

McCain will be the nominee - it will be very interesting to see what he does for a vice president - there are two viable alternatives for him.

1.  Choose a hard core conservative as a Vice Presidential candidate - this may help appease many apathetic voters that can't vote for McCain based upon his history...

2.  Choose a even more "moderate' republican running mate, or even a democrat - Lieberman comes to mind...  By doing so he can hope to pull votes from the democratic party, in part compensating for the republican vote he will not get due to his positions/history...

Time will tell.

What's his smartest move you think?  As much as I'd like to see it, he won't be withdrawing, so don't say "quit"   ;)

I was for Romney since the beginning, and for personal reasons, I changed and voted for Huckabee.  Personally, I think he is the more conservative...I do think McCain will be the nominee though.
....and that night as the moon crossed the mountain, one more Coyote was heard...

I still think mitt was the best one for the job. He will be back,he left on a good note.
McCain, hillary, and nobama. not a lot of difference between the three. what is going to decide the election is who the running mates are.
rumors of a hillary/obama ticket are still out there.
McCains choice will be very important to get him elected.
It will be a bad 4 years no matter what. the severity will depend on who gets elected.

Fish, I agree with you, and karma to you for being a kindred (conservative) spirit.

Look at the bright side-

1.  4 years of Carter got us a wrecked ecomony and destroyed international position, which paved the way for 8 years of Regan, and 4 years of GB Senior.

2.  8 years of slick Willy got us 8 years of GB junior.

So, the way I see it, if we have a dem for 4 years we get a republican for 12 - if we have a popular dem for 8 years we'll get a republican following that for 8 years....

12 years of democrats paved the way for 20 years of republicans - I can work with that ratio - just gotta be prepared to hold tightly on the wallet during the dem (socialist) years....

You may be right. the carter years were a disaster that we are still paying for, especially foreign policy wise.
Bubba coasted on Reagans ground work.
Neither hillary nor nobama are up to the job. I don't think either will go past 4 years. But then neither is mccain. senators make lousy presidents.
Hopefully after 4 years there will be a reemergence of the conservative movement.
