OMG :( I hope there is nothing more to this than a prank (well it's not funny but it's better than there really being something) and whoever made the prank needs to be dealt with

Transmitting on Radio near school could set it off , does that stop our county .....No..Figure that out

Traffic control points were set up well away from the school, very little chance of a radio transmission setting off anything. When the County buys us a communication system we can use that will not set off devices we will be sure to use them. But we are still waiting for the County to buy us a decent car. Make that any car. I suspect we will wait quite some time for the advanced radio's.

And yes it is over I am back home. Nothing was found. Nobody was hurt. A few Deputies had slightly frozen toes and fingers but all survived. And for the record those of us standing RIGHT IN FRONT of the school had nerves of steel when the big bang sounded.

It was a mess!
What I dont understand?... on my soapbox....
The cops had atleast a mile perimeter around the school, no way in , no way out. Detours away from the school all around. Believe me I tried to get in! They kept people and traffic far away and they did a dang good job so I raise my hat. However...
What I want to know is this...why in the (bad word) would they load the kids on buses to take them out to the christian church and instead drive them across the street to the babtist church with only a highway between them and a gas station next to them and the school on the other side??!!!!!! Why didnt they drive them 3-4 miles south of town to the christian church and out of danger???!!
I was completely p'd off!! This just had no logic to me. It may have been a prank but what if it wasnt? just think what could have happened. The ball park on the school lot was farther away than the church!!!! And I as a mom wanted my child out of there pronto and they wouldnt let us to them. I would have died trying to get to my child it was total caous. Had it been out at the christian church it would have been easier and a lot better.
And... my child left after 1:pm so they will not NOT mark my child as absent! They had you sign a paper stating you were picking your child up and said nothing about taking them would make them absent who told you this?
Ok off my soapbox now.

Yep flooded It crested about 11:00 today. The kids did not go to CCC only the Baptist church. I think J.B. left the ground when the boom went off. My trailer left the ground. You can tell us the truth J.B. the elections are months away.

   1. Most bomb threats are false. Once in a great while they are real. If real does it mean one device or in this day and age several? If the device was planted in Mrs. Jones 8Th grade room then we will need to talk with her and all kids in room PDQ. If they leave the area it will take hours to run down 25 kids at home. If somebody saw the suspect plant the device we need the info fast so not a good idea to rush the kids away.

2.  Middle of the day, how fast in nice weather can you round up all of the buses needed to drive the kids 3-4 miles away? For rest see #1.

3. Best plan at hand, remove kids to sturdy building several hundred feet away with several walls between them and device. Control traffic, sweep building with nice doggy. Go home in one piece.

Thank you JB you did have the quickest best plan but I feel a better one needs to be instilled. This is scarey this day and age, you dont even want to send your kids to school anymore. I just dont understand what is happening in the world today.

You and the officers did do a good job JB I believe you all handled it the bery best you could and I take my hat off for ya

I don't know if this is true, but I heard if a kid makes a threat, they can never attend a school again.  They have to either be homeschooled or attend an alternative (reform) school.  That even goes for college, so kids better get smart about this....a prank like that will ruin your life.
....and that night as the moon crossed the mountain, one more Coyote was heard...

And he could get four years in prison and a 5000 dollar fine. ( I heard)

Section 575.090, RSMo., says a person commits the crime of making a false bomb report if he knowingly makes a false report or causes a false report to be made to any person that a bomb or other explosive has been placed in any public or private place or vehicle.
making a false bomb report is a class D felony, which can send a person to prison for four years and/or include $5,000 fine.

There was a kid a few years back that did that in Waynesville...made what looked like a bomb out of old computer parts and stuck it in a locker.  I don't think Waynesville would let him in there either.

The shame of it is that it will probably be considered a terrorist act....they don't take pranks like this lightly any more...........not that they used too,,,,,but since 9-11 its alot worse
