Is any one else here getting annoyed at all of these pot holes that are popping up all over the roads latly.  They are getting horriable.  If I was driving behind me I would have thought that I was drunk from trying to miss all of the pot holes.

They are even out on the Interstate!  I had to go out for the first time in a few days.  It has gotten bad.  The road crews are going to be busy.

I know the County boys are getting OT.  The grader was up our road Saturday.

That would be Mr. Farnham's crew as I am in the Eastern Dist.  I am sure the others are out too though.

Commissioner Farnham is really good about trying to stay on top of the road problems out here in the Big Piney area.  It doesn't take long for him to get a crew on something if it is brought to his attention.

If I get a flat tire I'm going to be p****!  These roads are getting worse as the days go on.  I try to dodge one and am hitting another.

flat tires are the least of the prob, a large hole can cause accidents by severly damaging the car, or avoiding the hole and hitting something else, or vise versa.
Yeah, roads around here suck, just wait until they put the tar patch on it and you have to spend hours getting the tar off your nice shiney car.
Just watch where you drive and especially where others are.

Good point I will be even more mad if it causes me to get into an accident.  Yeah, I know how the tar issue is.  I live up in Northern Heights and when they finally paved the road I got tar all over my brand new WHITE truck.  I haven't been able to get it off since.  It stinks royaly.  It seems that unless some one or some thing is saverily hurt, some thing gets dammaged, or some one's dead things just don't get done.  That's every where...

pretty cool idea...

so as far as the tar goes...there are ways to get it off, Its kind of a double edged sword though, a rag and mineral spirits works (and clean rag to wipe/polish), but it is a solvent too, which means it will eat some of your finnish too.  A must do is to to work in small areas, wash area after use and wax with a real wax when done to protect surface.  Use at your own risk, it can do damage.

Try WD40 of the tar.  Spray it on and allow it time to work before you remove it with a clean rag.

Pothole update.....the State is doing a good job.  Eastbound I-44 was full of patches today.  Bet that doesn't last long with the weather coming in.

That'g good and bad....How often around here to the roads get repaved?  I know in Indiana it is eve 3-6 years depending on the road.

patch = repave...just a little bit at a time...  The interstate just had a recent resurface a few years back.  I know the newest section near Doolittle was a different, more dense type of pavement that is supposed to last longer than conventional pavement, but it was also applied to a fresh surface that hasnt undergone structural damage either as the old interstate has.  Its just a matter of cost and how much taxes you are really willing to pay.  As for St Robert Roads, they seem to do a pretty good job maintaining them, although East Lawn is due for a major resurface...there has been so much repair to underground lines that that road is as rough as a dirt road too.  The county roads, dont hold your breath...ever... we paid for those years back and they were just Missouri Ave chipped up and packed in on the county dirt roads with some oil, not a hot asphalt job at all.  No wonder they dont last, they werent done right in the first place.

Some things will never change
