Bitter, Clingy Gun Owners of America
By Doug Giles
Saturday, April 26, 2008

Iím a bitter/clingy gun owneróand Iím happy about it!

Obama, the great healer of America, the hope of our nation, came out last week and whizzed on millions of Christians and firearm fans calling us bitter Cling-Ons to religion and guns. I, personally, wasnít insulted because I really like God and my rifles, and I make a good living off my rage.

Yes, when I heard BHO blast us in front of his sassy San Fran crowd and attempt to put a dig into us plebeians, I thought, finally, this man has spoken the truth, unlike all the rest of the stercore tuari heís been spewing about his dear pastor, his home boy, Bill Ayers, and his audacity of hype.

Matter of fact, I think heís rather spot on describing me because Iím one POíed Christian who owns gunsónice guns and very many guns. And, yes, Iím rather clingy with them. Iím not alone either, as there are millions of other brothers, from other mothers, who really, really are endeared to our God-given right to self defense and firearm fun. Can I hear a big amen, my brothers?

Yes, Barack, you may rightly call millions of us men ďclingyĒ because the truth is, when the workday is done, boys just wanna have guns: guns to hunt with, guns to look at, guns for personal defense and a few zany lead spewers should al-Qaeda, or the anti-Christ, or any foreign or domestic threat, or Godzilla ever attack America, we, the clingy ones, will be ready to rock in a hard place, guaranteed.

Here are eight factoids I found that also cause backwards little old me to clutch my wood and metal friend called the gun:

1. In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

2. In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

3. Germany established gun control in 1938, and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

4. China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated

5. Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

6. Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

7. Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

8. Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.

As the old adage goes: ďWith guns, we are citizens. Without them, we are subjects.Ē Therefore, Iíll cling to my gun because I really enjoy being a free bird and truly hate kissing someone elseís backside, but thatís just me.

So, Barack, since you threw that supposed insult at me and millions of other gun-needy Americans, I am going to react by doing the five following things:

1. I am going to walk up to my gun cabinet and hug and kiss all of my rifles and shotguns and tell them they are really good guns no matter what any far-left liberal lug nut says about them.

2. Since I just finished my new book, How to Keep Thugs and Bad Boys Away from Daddyís Little Girl (Thomas Nelson, December 2008), I need a break. Letís see, what can I do? I know, I just got a custom Ruger #1 elephant gun in 450/400 Nitro Express. I think Iíll go out and celebrate with it in the South Florida swamps next weekend. Clingy me is going to baptize it in wild boar blood as a sort of a cordite warm-up pitch before I go bear hunting in Maine this summer, aoudad and mountain lion hunting in West Texas this fall, and Cape Buffalo hunting in Africa the summer of Ď09. Iím so clingy!

3. Iím going to buy the new Ruger .380 LCP for my lady because she, too, is also kinda clingy.

4. Iím going to cling more to God and Christ than I ever have before.

5. Iím going to vote for John McCain.

The newest branch of the NEO-CONS, the Cling-ONS. What war are we going to use these guns in? Will it be a domestic war?

I believe ther was just a little sarcasm injected into the article regarding the elephant gun.  Those of us keeping and bearing arms do it, not because of Hunting.  That is not what the God-given right is about.  It is about the 1st Law of Nature

You really need to grow up Shadylane.  It is a dangerous world out there.  Not like pre 911 at all.  This town is having growing pains and increase in violent crime and you seem to just want the bad guys to come for you and rob you or whatever.  That is disgusting.  Barack Hussein Muhammed Barama will remove any and all forms of self defense from the citizens of this country if he has his way.  Keep also in mind that a gun is the LAST resort to self defense, not the first.

I am hoping that nobama's Rev. did a lot of damage in the past few days that he has done interviews.  All I got out of him is that he is racist.  and anti-American.  I don't know about anyone else, but it seems to me that if you go to the same minister for 20 some odd years, you gotta like what he is saying.

If you mean I must think like you, then I have no intention of growing up. I can defend myself quite well, and I don't need any Cling-Ons to help me. Give a fool a gun and he will look for and find an enemy. I have nothing against the gun, its the fool that worries me.

So using Boolean logic, then every fool with a gun must be criminal.

Not true.  First, I am not a fool with a gun.  I am a CITIZEN with a gun.  Only a fool goes without the proper tools to get the job done.  Being prepared for a worst case scenario is in the best interest of all.  Read the thread about Wolves, Sheep and Sheepdogs.  I choose not to be a sheep, brainwashed by the far left to believe the police and military are the only ones that should have them.  The gun is a tool.  It is not evil unto itself.  Let us hope there is a sheepdog around if you get into a situation that you can't fight your way out of without a gun.  You can't carry a cop with you and the mighty cell phone is not adequate to the task.  I sincerely hope the only time I pull my gun is for target practice.  We were brought up in different generations obviously.  I was taught to be around guns and to respect them.  I wqas also taught how to properly use them

I believe your right about that.  He has made tons of money preaching hate.  I really don't believe that Obama never knew that this type of talk was going on in the church he attended for 20 years.  And just like the Rev said, Obama is a politician and says what he has to say to get elected.

I just read an article on CNN , and Rev, Wright and Nobama already discussed this matter a year ago, Nobama told the Rev. that he would probably have to distance himself from the Rev.  So even that is fake, both are so very fake.

It has been taken to court numerous times and Law Enforcement has no responsibility to keep bad things from happening to you.  They try their level best, but do not have to come to your aid.

Now do not get me wrong.  I am not anti law enforcement.  There are somethings they cannot do.  Even they will admit that to be everywhere at once is not in the job description.  Even at the best of times sometimes they don't arrive in time to keep bad things from happening.

I trust them.  I respect them.  And I know them.  Still I carry.  Because I know the reality.

I work with a guy with lets say a shaded past.  We were talking and he said that criminals do not worry about going into a house with 20 police in it.  They know they'll get caught and go to jail.  What they worry about is maybe going somewhere and there being an armed citizen there.  Because unlike the police and other law enforcement, the citizen does not have to exercise restraint.

Now that does not mean citizens can go about shooting people at random.  But breaking into someones home, and with the homeowner being armed, and fearing for their life or their family's lives; the restraint police would have goes out the window.  let's just say they know real bad ju-ju comes from that.

I love our LEO's around here.  They work for small town wages, and put up with large city crime.  They got my back and I appreciate that.  I also would have theirs should the need arise.

Best to all, Sleep well, sheepdogs are awake and on patrol..

I surely hope I never have to deal with someone coming into my home.  I've never killed a person, and God forbid I wouldn't want too either. But in such a case, I believe I would throw all concern out the window and make damn sure the perp doesn't have an opportunity to hurt anyone in my family.

I was happy with the Castle Doctrine, and had planned to eventually take the further step.  Eventually came a little sooner than expected - within a 6 month period, I encountered a slightly radical tennant and found out there is a sex offender (registered) living right around the corner.  We have two youngsters, and we won't be taking any chances.

Never taken a human life and hope I don't have to either, but I would rather be tried by 6 than be 6 feet under.

Another sheepdog is born...

The oldest went through training and paid for his permit.  Got it 8 days later.  Too cool.

Not a big deal cost about $250 for training, gas, permit, background check.  The pistol and ammo was something he already had.

But, for someone trying to hurt anyone he happens to be around.  Sorry for them.  XD 45 with Federal hydra-shocks.  Very bad ju ju comes outa the end of that weapon.

Remember the weapon is a last resort to defend you and yours.  Better to have it and never need it, than need it and not have it.
Best to you in your endeavors
