  • Valor7: Actually no it is not, a dependable Revenue stream will not come on line until the 4th quarter of 2017 so 2018 budget will be up in the air, not quite sure what they will have. By 2019 budget all will be well.

  • Valor7: I could have worded that better, we talked details, options, the pros and cons of each, in  order to arrive at the best ballot language to present to the voters. Hope that makes this clearer.

  • Valor7: Yes and no. We talked details and options until we were blue in the face but I never heardbring it over, it was always the time was not right for the issue to pass. Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

I talked to a buddy of mine who has a sister or sisterinlaw who told him all the rivers are full of bacteria and to stay out. Has anyone else heard this report? I was gonna float and swim but I dont wanna catch some bacteria by way of ear or mouth.

There are always levels of bacteria present.  E Coli lives in the digestive tracts of all warm-blooded creatures, so you will always have some level in the rivers and lakes.  Pulaski County is also known for residents who pipe their household sewage directly to the river or ditch instead of using a septic tank or lagoon.  Some who do have the proper systems are having troubles because of the flooding and saturation of leach fields.  The public sewer systems also experienced overflows during the larger storm events - as in the manholes by the RV campground in Waynesville.  Don't let all that keep you from enjoying the river - but don't drink the water and do try to keep open wounds out of the water.

I have heard that they are finding higher levels of E coli at the Lake than usual. They are invetigating it to find the source. They said that its higher levels than usually considered safe in a swimming area. Just be aware of it and careful is all I can say.
