  • Lepard LLC: Why so long before it comes online? 911 took out a loan or bond with the known guarantee payment and began building..

  • Valor7: Actually no it is not, a dependable Revenue stream will not come on line until the 4th quarter of 2017 so 2018 budget will be up in the air, not quite sure what they will have. By 2019 budget all will be well.

  • Valor7: I could have worded that better, we talked details, options, the pros and cons of each, in  order to arrive at the best ballot language to present to the voters. Hope that makes this clearer.

  • Valor7: Yes and no. We talked details and options until we were blue in the face but I never heardbring it over, it was always the time was not right for the issue to pass. Glad to see the time in now right and I for one shall vote yes on the ballot. I would urge all others to do the sameour county is busting at the seams crimewise and no matter how many bad guys we send off there always seems to someone to replace them. The Sheriff's Office needs the help.

Has anyone else living on Hwy 28 experienced any problems with not receiving mail with the 911 address?
Seems there are duplicate addresses on Hwy 28 (elsewhere I am sure), the only thing different with mine is that after HWY 28 is the word "West", a duplicate address is located near I44 on Hwy 28, I reside in Maries County (18 miles up the road).  Renumbering begins again at the Pulaski/Maries County line.
If you live on Hwy 28 here is a test you can do that will show the problem if you live on the wrong end or Hwy 28: go to Google Maps and type in your address, I did this and entered West and the directions took me to the duplicate address near I44 and would not recognize the other.
I have contacted the 911 manager in Maries County and the Post Master in Dixon, it appears that the problem was when Postal addresses and 911 addresses merged, appears that not a lot of thought was put into the change with having duplicate numbers given the possible choices with 5 digits, appears the short term fix was to include the word "West", although when a vendor leaves this off (which I am not in control of) I do not receive mail.
Any ideas of how to correct this problem? ???

I'd contact your address twin and see if you can work out a system of notification between the two of you to swap mail whenever it is sent to the wrong address.

I'd then contact any vendors or people who sent mail without the "west" attached to the street address and have them update their addresses.

The post office can only do so much; vendors and other's who haven't been including the "west" portion of your address may as well leave off the house number or zip code, because it's as much a part of your mailing address as anything else in it.

Thanks for the reply, although I am looking for more of a permanent solution to the problem and wanted to determine if anyone else has the same problem.  All of my regular correspondents have been notified to include "West", although somehow they still seem to drop it off.  Agree the suggestion of contacting my twin would help. Maybe then I can find out how much mail I am not receiving and determine if I need to elevate the issue.   :-\

The county commissioners and 911 services should be able to work together to reassign addresses. It's not that huge of an area, though it won't happen in a week. If they can't do it, might be time to seek help from representative or senator, since mail is basically considered a civil right.
Heck is where people go when they don't believe in Gosh.

It is the job of the 911 centers to correct this problem,  if you have call them on it,  they should be able to fix it!

Going to ask a weird question. If you are driving from St. Robert, do you live on the right side of the road or the left? I am sure this is not making sense right now, but will explain my thought later.

Oh, and also the post office has to be informed too. Forgot about that.
